Age Limit (as on 01 August 2025)

• Minimum Age: 21 Years
• Maximum Age: 37 Years (Male – UR/EWS)
• Maximum Age: 40 Years (Female – UR/EWS)
• Maximum Age: 40 Years (Male/Female – BC/MBC)
• Maximum Age: 42 Years (Male/Female – SC/ST)

Additional age relaxation is applicable as per the Bihar SHSB recruitment rules.

• Passed I.Sc. (Biology/Mathematics) or 10+2 with Biology/Mathematics
• Completed a 2-year Diploma in Optometry, OR
• Completed 2 years of training as an Ophthalmic Assistant in a recognized Government Hospital as per NPCB guidelines, OR
• 2-year Diploma in Ophthalmic Assistant from a Govt./Private/Semi-Govt institute recognized by the Govt. of Bihar
