Age Limit

  • Administrative Officer (C): Max. 40 Years (as on 01 July 2025)
  • Clerk Trainee: Max. 28 Years (as on 01 July 2025)
  • Age Relaxation: As per Government of India/TIFR rules.

Pay Scale / Stipend

  • Administrative Officer (C): Pay Level-10 (7th CPC), Pay Stage-1; Total Monthly Emoluments (TME): ₹1,14,945/-. Higher starting salary may be considered for deserving candidates.
  • Clerk Trainee: Monthly Stipend: ₹22,000/-. (On-job training scheme; no claim for permanent/temporary appointment during/after training.)

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Administrative Officer (C)
  • Graduate with 60% aggregate from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Diploma/Degree/Certificate in Management/Administration.
  • Proficiency in personal computers & applications.
  • Experience: 5 years’ service in Pay Level 6/7/8 or equivalent TME; experience handling Establishment and/or Academic matters.

Desirable: Experience with recruitment (rosters, compassionate appointments, pay fixation/protection, reports), running time-bound quality recruitment, and working in NIC eOffice.

Clerk Trainee
  • Graduate from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Knowledge of typing and use of PCs & applications.

Desirable: Experience in Microsoft Excel, good drafting skills, and prior work as Clerk/Typist in Govt./Semi-Govt./Autonomous/PSU setups.

Job Responsibilities (Admin Officer)

  • Handle establishment & service matters with working knowledge of RTI, FRSR, CCS (CCA/Pension) Rules, NPS, DoP&T norms.
  • Manage academic matters per UGC, MoE, NAAC, and MEA guidelines (including foreign students/visitors for conferences).
  • Lead and communicate effectively at supervisory/managerial level.

Mode of Recruitment

  • Administrative Officer (C): Written Test, Skill Test & Interview
  • Clerk Trainee: Written Test & Skill Test
  • Tests/interviews may be conducted online or in-person as decided by the Institute.

Tenure & Other Conditions

  • Admin Officer (C): Initial appointment for 1 year (including probation); continuation after comprehensive review till superannuation (age 60).
  • Clerk Trainee: Tenure 1 year; may extend by 1 year with review; purely for on-job training with no claim to future appointments.
  • Selected candidates may be required to work on Saturdays/Sundays/holidays as per Institute exigencies.

  • Printout of online application, valid ID proof, proof of DOB/age, all mark-sheets & certificates.
  • Experience certificates; two conduct certificates; SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD certificate (GoI format).
  • Latest CV; PwBD applicants for UR post must have ≥40% disability with certificate in prescribed format.
  • For CGPA/OGPA: bring University/Board conversion norms to percentage; otherwise candidature may not be considered.

Travel Reimbursement (Admin Officer only)

Eligible outstation candidates called for the process will be reimbursed single First Class (non-AC)/III Tier AC train fare by the shortest route on submission of onward & return ticket copies. If traveling by air, tickets must be booked only through BLCL/ATT/IRCTC; reimbursement is limited to eligible return train fare with tickets & boarding passes.

General Notes

  • Posts are tenable at TIFR Hyderabad; liable for transfer to other Centres/Field Stations if required.
  • For Admin Officer (C), new joinees are governed by National Pension System unless already under CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972.
  • UR posts are open to all; SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD candidates may also apply for UR posts (without age relaxation unless eligible under rules).
  • Institute may set higher shortlisting criteria, fill more posts, or not fill any; canvassing will disqualify.
